John Willett is a native of East Orange, New Jersey. After graduating high school, he went on to Allegheny College in Meadville, PA. There, John majored in sociology and played basketball and baseball. It was in college that John also met who would become his wife, Linda. After college, John served as a naval officer with the US Navy during Vietnam. As a young married couple, they were in San Diego where John's ship was based. While there, a friend shared with him about having a personal relationship with Christ.
John's decision led him to have a connection with God that both opened his eyes and aroused his curiosity. After getting out of the Navy, John went to Grace Seminary in Winona Lake, Indiana. His intention in going to seminary was to simply try and understand the Bible much better, but eventually serve as a school teacher and coach. God, however, had different plans and provided John the opportunity to serve as an associate pastor for twelve years in Columbus, Ohio.
In 1984, John and Linda moved to Greensboro, NC where John pastored Westover Church until 1990. Since that time he has been serving with Search Ministries leading a number of weekly Bible studies in the Greensboro/High Point area. He and Linda have two children and five grandchildren.
God has blessed John with a unique ability to explain Bible truths and concepts in a clear, understandable way. His life is proof of the difference that having a personal relationship with Christ can make.
